Curt Burrow
Commander Curt Burrow pledged the Oath of Office as a Griffith Police Officer in March of 1997. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice & Criminology from Ball State University in 1992 and is a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Staff and Command. Commander Burrow is also a crash reconstructionist, certified by the University of North Florida's Institute of Police Technology and Management. Commander Burrow is a founding member of the Griffith Police Honor Guard and has been elected by his peers to serve on numerous boards and committees throughout the last 26 years.
Commander Burrow was promoted to Corporal in 2001 and then to Sergeant in 2010, where he served as Shift Commander for over 6 years. Having proven himself in his leadership role as a sergeant, he was subsequently appointed as Patrol Lieutenant in March of 2016 and then to his current appointment of Operations Commander in November of 2021. As Operations Commander he oversees the Patrol Division and specialty units such as SRO's, criminal interdiction units and K9 units. The Operations Commander's role also entails maintaining a fleet of over 50 vehicles, writing grants and assisting with security detail and traffic flow planning for Town events.
Commander Burrow has received numerous recognitions and awards from the Griffith Police Department and also from the District 1 Law Enforcement Council for "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty" and "Life Saving Commendation". Commander Burrow has shown his dedication to the Town of Griffith by not only serving as a police officer, but also serving as a citizen representative and volunteer of other Griffith entities as well.
