Fees for Reports and Services

You may request services from the Records Division of the Griffith Police Department during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.  Hours of operation are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 8 am to 7 pm on Tuesday.  The Records Division is closed on holidays and weekends. 

Record Division Services and Fees Include:

    • Standard Release:  $25
    • Release Due to Arrest:  $50
  • Animal Warden Boarding & Reclaiming Fees
    • $15 per day boarding fee
    • Reclaiming Fee
      • First and Second Offense: $10
      • Third Offense:  $25
      • Fourth Offense:  $50
  • Background Check/Criminal History
    • $10
  • Non-electronic Fingerprints
    • Free for residents
    • $20 for non-residents
  • Vehicle Identification Number Checks
    • $5
  • Gun Permit
    • Local Fees Only
      • 4-year:  $10
      • Lifetime w/o a current valid permit: $50
      • Lifetime w/ a current valid permit: $40
